Felledgefest is a family friendly, community event. There will
be lots of workshops during the day where people can share knowledge and
experience new things. We would like to create an open, warm and welcoming
atmosphere, where people feel free to express themselves. For this reason we
do not encourage the intensive or excessive use of alcohol, as we feel that
this can lead to situations where many people at the festival are less able
to feel comfortable and free.
We hope that the music at the festival will be a creative experience for
everyone. There will be music in the barn until late, and we hope that people
will bring instruments and jam around the campfire. However,
please do not use drums or other rhythm instruments
between 11pm and 11am. Last year people were kept awake by the sound of
drums, which carries across the campsites. Please dont bring any
form of electrical music systems (ie stereos etc).
We are trying to run a sustainable festival. We have comfortable compost toilets, and this
year we should have showers that are heated by a combination of solar and
wood energy. These technologies are slightly different from the conventional
ones and we hope that you will enjoy the novelty of learning how to use
them. We will be recycling all waste that is generated by the festival. Last
year the clean up cost £150 - money that would have gone to charity.
Please take your waste home to your hungry recycling bins.
Finally we would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone who is thinking
of coming. You are the festival!
